Dr. Ryan Christensen, DO
Dr. Ryan Christensen DO is a board-certified osteopathic physician practicing Traditional Osteopathy, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine / Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and Integrative medicine. He came as a skeptic to osteopathy during his time as a medical student and has since dedicated his practice to advancing the art and science of osteopathic medicine. He completed a dual residency in Family Medicine & Emergency Medicine in 2017 at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, and completed the Training in Policy Studies (TIPS) Health Policy Fellowship through the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Christensen is passionate about the intersection of social justice, medicine, holistic health, and hands-on medicine.
During his tenure as a DO, Dr. Christensen has served as the Chief Resident of the McLaren Oakland Family Medicine Residency Program, and worked in Metro Detroit providing patient-centered primary care and osteopathic manipulative treatment. He was the family medicine residency director at Authority Health, a teaching health center graduate medical education program prior to opening his own practice.
He has served as president of Oakland County Osteopathic Medical Association and the Macomb County Osteopathic Medical Association, and is extensively involved with the Michigan Osteopathic Association. Additionally, he has served as editorial board member for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physician Journal “Osteopathic Family Physician."
In his free time, Dr. Christensen enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, travel, time with his corgis, Kate & Pippa, and making music.
